The spookiest time of the year is upon us, and McDonald's is bringing back a nostalgic treat to celebrate. Starting on October 17, 2023, McDonald's Happy Meals will feature four distinct "Boo Buckets" as part of their Halloween festivities. These fan-favorite throwback Halloween pails are back by popular demand and will be available while supplies last throughout the Halloween season.
"Let’s be honest... spooky season isn't official until Boo Buckets are back at McDonald’s," McDonald's declared in a statement. These Halloween-themed Happy Meals will come in four unique designs: Monster, Skeleton, Mummy, and Vampire, each sure to delight both kids and adults alike.
The Boo Buckets themselves are available in four different colors: orange, white, purple, and green. One notable addition this year is the purple vampire Boo Bucket, which makes a return after a long absence. For those who recall the original purple Boo Bucket, this is a particularly exciting comeback.
These throwback Boo Buckets made their first appearance in 1986, becoming a staple of McDonald's Happy Meals during the Halloween season. However, they mysteriously disappeared for a while. Fortunately, they made a triumphant return in 2022 on October 18, and they're back again for 2023.
But the Halloween fun doesn't stop at McDonald's. Burger King is joining the competition with a Halloween bucket of its own. The Burger King Buckets will be available for a limited time in select markets, including Nashville, Las Vegas, Charlotte, and Atlanta starting on October 13. This new addition adds an exciting twist to the Halloween-themed fast-food offerings this season.
Don't miss your chance to grab these Boo Buckets from McDonald's and the Burger King Buckets from select Burger King locations to make this Halloween season even more memorable. Enjoy the spooky season with these fun and festive options while they last.
