CMA CGM Secures Third Consecutive Victory as Best Global Shipping Line at 2023 AFLAS Awards

CMA CGM Group, a prominent player in sea, land, air, and logistics solutions on a global scale, has clinched the prestigious title of "Best Global Shipping Line" for the third consecutive year during the 2023 Asian Freight, Logistics, and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS). This accolade, awarded through a democratic process involving industry stakeholders, customers, global shippers, and readers of Asia Cargo News, solidifies CMA CGM's position as the preferred global ocean carrier in the eyes of its stakeholders.

Driving Global Trade with a Vast Network

As a proud member of the Ocean Alliance, CMA CGM serves as a vital facilitator of global trade through its container shipping services that connect 160 countries across five continents, offering a staggering 275 ocean services. Notably, the company maintains extensive coverage along key trade routes, including Asia-Europe, Asia-Africa, and the Transpacific, boasting 11, nine, and 27 shipping services, respectively.

In the Asia Pacific region, the CMA CGM Group seamlessly connects 14 Intra-Asia markets through CNC. Additionally, through ANL, the group has established itself as a leading container shipping carrier in Oceania.

Enhancing the customer experience, CMA CGM goes the extra mile by offering a comprehensive suite of value-added services. These services span from handling delicate reefer shipments to managing oversized cargoes and providing containers with a reduced carbon footprint.

Commitment to Excellence and Sustainability

Committed to becoming a Net Zero Carbon company by 2050, CMA CGM empowers its shippers to reduce carbon emissions through its ACT with CMA CGM+ program. This suite of environmental value-added services enables customers to measure, reduce, and offset their carbon footprint.

Many shippers have already taken steps to lower their carbon emissions by embracing cleaner energy alternatives such as biomethane, biofuels, or bioLNG. This transition is facilitated by CMA CGM's impressive fleet of 32 LNG-powered "e-methane ready" ships currently in operation, with plans to expand to 77 such vessels by 2026. Furthermore, the company has ordered an additional 24 e-methanol ships, expected to be available from 2026 onward.

Laurent Olmeta, Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM Asia Pacific Ltd, expressed the group's gratitude for receiving this prestigious award for the third consecutive year. He noted that the recognition reaffirms the trust and satisfaction of their shippers globally, and they remain steadfast in their commitment to delivering excellence and promoting sustainable shipping practices in innovative ways.
